The Ariel Rider D-Class rocketed me up to 33 mph (53 km/h) though and all indications are that the Grizzly should match if not surpass the D-Class’s performance. Left: Ariel Rider’s patented metal sandwich motors gears Right: typical nylon motor gearsĪriel Rider doesn’t even list the speed of the Grizzly, which might make it one those “If you have to ask…” situations. The metal reinforcement makes the motors a bit louder than others, but also helps them handle the extreme power that Ariel Rider regularly dumps into them. Those motors are also custom spec’d with Ariel Riders’ own patented metal reinforced gears instead of the typical nylon gears found in most standard geared-motor e-bikes. That means you’re looking at a 3 kW peak-rated electric moped here, folks. The powerful Grizzly sits on a pair of 20″ fat tires wrapped around 750W continuous motors that each put out 1,500W of peak power. The result was the Ariel Rider Grizzly, which took all of my suggestions and then added a few more I hadn’t even considered. ![]() To my surprise, the company called me up a few months later and said, “Done.” In the review, I mentioned there was still some room for improvement, such as adding rear suspension, beefing up the front suspension fork, and perhaps offering more battery capacity to feed those two power hungry motors. I reviewed that epic 33 mph e-moped earlier this year and came away majorly impressed. ![]() In many ways it is an improvement over the company’s legendary dual motor Ariel Rider D-Class. The Grizzly was just launched as something of an adventure-style electric moped. But some of their most popular models have been their moped-style e-bikes, and now the company has added the new Ariel Rider Grizzly electric moped to its lineup. I'm an old school racer and I knew this bike had the stuff to make me feel bad **** again.Ariel Rider has a wide range of electric bikes from simple folding e-bikes to cargo e-bikes and commuter e-bikes. Thanks Areil, I looked at a lot of bikes. I told my son I'm going to buy me a Go-Pro, So now I can start making videos of my travels. I feel 10 years younger. No actually 15 years younger! I'm not kidding when I say this bike has been a big part of my recovery. In my mind and my body. I have so much control with the dual motors and the ability to switch from motor to motor. The bike feels so stable and secure, I was riding through sand, ruts, dirt trails climbing big hills. I can keep my pulse right where it needs to be just by utilizing the electric and pedal assist. Whats cool is I can ride so far on pedal assist and if I get to tired, I just full electric my way back home. ![]() I took some fire trails and was sneaking up on wild life, Seeing things I have never been able to enjoy. I've been putting more and more time into this bike and I have to say it has helped me recover to a shocking level. I got to see parts of my town I have never been able to reach in my car or on my 18 speed pedal bike. The next day I could feel it in my upper legs. ![]() I reviewed the Grizzly 3 AWD and figured what the heck, I'll try it! Man I'm so stoked.I rode 65 miles on pedal assist level 1. Well I don't like stationary bikes or tread mills or step ups.BORING!!!! My Dr said I need to excercise with caution. I'm 61 years old and I just recently had to have a stent surgery.
